Top levels depend on meeting production requirements. Actual levels vary by product, issue age and contract level, are subject to carrier approval, and are not a guarantee of earnings.

What high commission means

First-year commission is a percentage of the policy’s annual premium. On a $50 monthly premium ($600 a year), a 120% level would be $720 in first-year commission. This is only an illustration. Many carriers advance part of it when the policy issues, and unearned advances can be charged back if a policy lapses.

Street-level, top-level commissions

Many agents start at a lower level and work their way up. Our FEX contracts offer levels up to the top level available to us, depending on meeting production requirements. You own your book, subject to each carrier’s agreement.

Questions about FEX contracts

What are FEX contracts?

FEX contracts are carrier appointments that let a licensed agent sell final expense (burial) life insurance. You request them through an agency, complete a SureLC profile and e-sign each carrier’s contract.

What does high commission mean on a FEX contract?

First-year commission is paid as a percentage of the policy’s annual premium. Our FEX contracts go up to 120% with several carriers. For example, on a $600 annual premium, 120% would be $720 in first-year commission. This is only an illustration.

What is a top-level commission?

It is the highest first-year level a carrier offers through our agency. Top levels depend on meeting production requirements, vary by product and issue age, and are subject to carrier approval.

Do I have to take every carrier?

No. One FEX contract is fine. Pick the carriers you want, and you do not have to move your other contracts.

Who owns the book of business?

You do, subject to each carrier’s agreement.

What do I need to get FEX contracts?

An active resident life insurance license, E&O and AML training where a carrier requires them, and a clean debit check.
